With a background in public policy, social sciences, and public health, Imi’s research seeks to understand how women accessing medical abortion can be better supported. Her work focuses on the development of a digital intervention tool to address gaps in access, safety, and patient care outcomes. Imi commenced her PhD in 2025 under the supervision of Professor Danielle Mazza, Dr Olena Ivanova, and Professor Kristina Edvardsson. By co-designing the tool with providers, and drawing on insights from women’s experiences and perspectives, her research aims to improve support for medical abortion care, and amplify women’s voices in reproductive care policy, patient-centred care practices, and autonomy in sexual health choices.
