Advocates for women’s sexual and reproductive health

SPHERE is an NHMRC-funded network of multidisciplinary researchers, healthcare providers and paradigm-shifters. We partner with a national and international network of institutions, investigators, students, staff and advisors who are focused on driving better sexual and reproductive health outcomes for women.

Investigators

We are a highly esteemed network of experts who are at the forefront of women’s sexual and reproductive health research. Collaboratively, we bring together combined learnings and methodological expertise in primary care practice, health services research, knowledge translation and implementation, social and health psychology, health economics and epidemiology.

Staff

Our team comprises research fellows, research affiliates, project-support specialists and management professionals who are responsible for the day-to-day delivery of our evolving research program.

Students

We welcome PhD and Honours students who have a shared interest in addressing the significant evidence gaps in women’s sexual and reproductive health.

Consumer advisory group

We work closely with consumers to ensure that our research activities are informed by a community perspective – one that considers women’s diverse experiences, cultural backgrounds and locations.

Healthcare advisory circles

We work closely with discipline-based stakeholders and advisory circles to make sure our research is informed by the clinical insights and experiences of primary care providers. This approach considers the delivery of sexual and reproductive healthcare services in general practice, practice nursing and pharmacy settings. And it ensures that our research outcomes are effectively transferred into health policy and practice.
